Ok, I've finally got the handle on the lid for the front console in the GTI/Ed30.  If you order the car with smoking pack and/or front centre armrest you will get a lid on the front storage area. If you don't have the front centre armrest and/or smoking pack you won't get the lid.  Mine came with a lid and I just have the armrest. Hopefully that clears things up a bit.

Thats ok then!  I have ordered a front armrest, but no smoking pack - so hopefully I'll get a lid!

Youv'e all forgot the one thing that is sometimes missing - and without it, the GTI handles completely differently, due to the weight distribution!

It is . . . .

 . . . . wait for it . . . .

the BOTTLE OPENER !!!!!

Oh, BTW, the Ed30 has a different rear bumper to the standard GTI, so the rear mudflaps might not fit.  The fronts are OK though.

Speaking of which mine looks pretty good now. once she's clean I'll put up some pics - it took probably 6 weeks to fully dry and the bubbles continued to dissipate throughout.

Decided against the Supagard...

I've bought about 100 quids worth of cleaning products instead, and will give the car a right good polish and waxing before I start running it in properly!  Hopefully for a start I'll wax it every couple of weeks... but I'm sure I'll get bored of that!  As long as I get a decent coat on for a start.

I did see Meguiars do a NXT Spray Wax - which you can top up your coat quickly.  I might order some of that too.
I think I have an online shopping problem in that I like getting things delivered... it brightens up my day at work

Nearly there... tomorrow at 2pm and I get to pick her up!
I'm getting quite excited!!!

So my list for the dealer is:
Bottle of oil
Bottle opener
Check all my options are present
Check car / wheels for marks, dents etc
Check the transport blocks have been removed

GAP - I discovered my insurance give me 1 years GAP on a new car.
Supagard - Not bothering... have Friday off work to get a few coats of wax on!

Anything else?!

I dont think the thieves, boy racers, petrol stations and heavy right foot will come into play until I leave the dealer btw
