I have a Golf MK3 TDi, which is slowly metamorphasising into a MK3 GTi (at least appearance wise). However, there is wheel gap the size of the Suez canal between the wheel and the wheel arches.

Front Gap is 2.5 inches
Rear Gap  is 3.5 inches,

so the questions are,
a) should the car be lowered (Rhetorical or what ?)
b) by how much ?
c) will this cure the difference in front/back level ?
d) how does this affect the insurance ?
e) will the car start eating its bump stops ?
f) will this improve braking ?

Would appreciate your experience !

...& Gambit - Thanks for the info.... eibachs it is then ( but I'll look for a better price tho' WHERE'd YOU GET YOURS????).   Are the prices higher for newer/bigger cars  ('cos the Mk4 is a big bit heavier than the mk2)???

i got mine from Carnosseur in Inverness, the fella who runs it is on the corsasport board, and i inhabitated that board for about 3yrs previous to this, so i done a bit of bargaining between all the traders on there and that was a low as any of them would go
