Sorry to hear it's still causing problems... don't you have any decent VAG tuners up there that know what they're doing?

Reason I say this is due to my own bad experience with a so called VW specialist who fitted a new bottom end in my Corrado and then spent nigh on a year trying to get it running right - he changed every sensor twice, checked and re-checked everything over and over and couldn't find the fault which essentialy meant I couldn't take the revs over 4K

So, in the end I got my car back still not right and hadn't a clue where to go or what to do next... not to mention the money that I'd spent!

A few months later I remembered The Phirm were not a million miles away and decided it'd be worth taking it down there to see if they could think of anything that may just cure it... and they did - took Tim all of 20 minutes to diagnose the problem and he had it back to me in a couple of days running spot on and thats how it stayed right up to me selling it!

May not really be that helpful but sometime it can pay to see another 'specialist' as a fresh pair of eyes may spot something otherwise missed...

Best of luck getting it sorted - looks fantastic in the pics btw :)

Yes but do they work with golfs? You may go round and round in circles until you get a specialist to look at it.. who might sort the problem in 5 mins (as phils example).

No normal garage, no matter how much they big themselves up, can even come close to a genuine vw specialist when you have a fault to fix.

have you tried these guys?

Gilpin Brothers Garage
Linden, Main St, High Catton, York, North Yorkshire YO41 1EL
Tel: 01759 371101

I will be taking my mk2 to them when it needs work.  I used to use them when I had my last golf (2001) and they were V good and reasonably priced.  They are VW specialists with about a million years of experience between them. lol.

Cheers,

S

cars back at the garage opposite my house, as its practical... she's broken.. AGAIN!

this time the oil warning light and stoopid buzzer come on at 2000 revs and then stay on until you turn the car off, even at idle.

Hopefully it's just the sender or the pump... hmmmm.... silly cabs!!!
