golf 1.3 ryder poor idling

Ive just brought a golf mk2 1.3 (Yesterday) when i test drove it, it ran fine however now ive got it home it seems to be hunting when idling as anyone got any advice. Can't understand why it was running fine now all of a sudden is hunting. Is it best too get it tuned properly or can i ajust the idle myself.  Are there any simple checks i can do

try checking for vacuum leaks on all the vacuum lines also check the air intake for leaks any of these may cause car to draw to much air in causing hutting

you might find its the vacuum pull down unit a tthe front of the carb, below the airbox you'll see it looks a bit like amushroom, common problem that they go on a 2e3 i'm told

have taken the filter off the top of the engine and the housing to get access to the carb. Ive had a good luck at all the vacume pipes which seem ok. i have spayed wd everwhere as i thought it might be the damp due too the amount of rain we have had, still no joy. Did notice a pipe of the left of the carb ( white tube 2 in long ) looked as thought something should have maybe pushed onto it though i couldn't see anythink.

that tube is mixture or idle i cannae remember now..

oh ok does it pull off or do i have to turn it ??
am i best too get it looked at by a garage or can i set the idle my self??

best bet is to go to a specialist rather than jsut a garage, someone who knows about carbs, and the PBs particular.. soa t elast they can diagnose it, if its anymore than a tuneup it needs
