boge oil vs gas
« on: 11 May 2007, 01:14 »
are the there much difference damping/stiffness between the two? its a long story but i had the boge automatic oil dampers, moved to gaz adjustables which had a manufacturing defect and wouldnt fit my eibach springs properly, or i felt safely on the spring seat.

now the improved damping on the gaz's was fantastic, but swapping back to the boge oil shocks and the handling is no where near as precise, or good arond the corners.the car bounces around everywhere!

running a little skint now, so im lookig at the boge turbo gas dampers.  has anyone experience between the two?

boge turbo (gas) are good cheap shockies, nice and firm. can't say for sure how they'd compare to adjustable ones tho

Comparing my Boge Turbo shocks to my Dad's Koni adjustables and i'd go for the Koni's all day long.

However, for a third of the price there isn't actually much in them! I know it also depends on the springs, but the Boge give a comfortable but firm ride as long as you don't lower it too much. I'd say you wouldn't feel the difference between the Koni's and Boge turbos with everyday driving, but push it a bit and the Boge won't be as good.

Like sharpie said though, they are good cheap shocks

I have them combined with a set of GMAX springs which, now that they have settled after a few thousand miles, are going nicely.  Good ride and handling- very pleased with them for the price!
