^ its just irony.. mk3 8v gti owners are barely accepted by some.. so i find it odd that non gti owners are accepted more..

anyways... someone just lock this thread.

some people (other than danhock it seems) dont understand what this thread was about.

being called small minded when i was actually trying to guage opinion and see if it might be possible to help expand the scope here to help some people fit in more is actually the opposite of what this thread has accomplished.

Ya shouldnt have been so quick to call names when was just asking for peoples opinions. why you have to come back with such immature comments? maybe something struck a cord, if so i'm sorry.. and danhock shouldnt have called mr k.r a muppet (even in jest) coz he's a real nice bloke *cough*and i've seen his pic.. lol

never tried to say anyone wasnt welcome, just suggested that a 'other marques' spot or something similar might be worthwhile.. nevermind.

I'm in two minds about this...

thing is.. there are several people here who have 'GTI'd up' non GTI cars.. and while they look pretty.. they're not 'real'

should we welcome them for their love of golfs?  or ask why the'yre spending 100s on body mods to look like something they arent.. people are gonna think golfs are slow if they try to race one of these fake sheep in wolves clothing.. even more ludicrous has been the talk of adding NOS to one of these car.. the result of which would just about give it the performance of a 'real' gti...

however i do understand that esp. young drivers cant afford to insure a gti.. but.. this is a gti forum so erm... ?

Offended deeply   ! I dont have a fast car so i dont try and drive it quickly. I dont have a GTi badge on my car like a tw@t nor have i ever perpetrated it to be anything else. You could say the same to all the VR6 owners, technically they are not GTi's either but thats a different story.

well said fielder on all your posts on this thread.i pay over1400 for my insurance 3RD PARTY so to insure a gti would be impossible for me.anyway some of these non gti look better than the gti you lot driveand i didnt do mine up to look like a gti i did it the way i like it the way i want it to look like.you gti owners might have performance but when it comes to style you lose big time

The CLs do perform more than i thaught i just took a Vaux Astra GTE and a Pug 106 1.6 in a 3 way looser race around a abandoned carpark. I usally dont go for that kinda sh!t but they where laughting at my golf calling it "old" and i just couldnt resist.

4 races, 3 laps each, my first 4 races and i took everyone of them off the line   Gotta love Toyos, they give me all the grip i need
