Thanks Alan - on my way over now - not sure the missus will appreciate the sounds while she is trying to watch something called "Grease is the Word"

Welcome to the forum mate... and congrats on the car.

Maybe i am spoit with ecurie's stable, but there does not seem to be any aural drama to the car, i know i am running it in, so i am not using the engines full rev range, but i dont get any engine / exhaust excitment. The Cooper S Works has an awesome supercharger / spluttery exhaust combo which i loved. The turbo whistle is pretty cool though

Nah its not just you... I had exactly the same feeling about my Edition 30 when it was new as it sounded lifeless and really smooth - I did have a Golf R32 before however and they sound awesome.  However, after almost 5000 miles it has opened up a little and you can hear the engine a lot more - not as good as the R32 of course - and there is a clearly audible turbo whistle reminiscent of the Mk4 GTI Turbo and a lot louder compared to the standard Mk5 GTI.

Welcome Treacle,

Have had my Edition 30 just over a week now and am just loving it, like you never owned a v/w before and had always had diesel cars previously so watching the needle drop on the petrol gauge causes a big gulp, but i really don't care, i just love everything about the car and can't stop smiling.

Yeah

Cant wait to open the car up once i have 'run' it in.

I smile too when ever i get to drive it. Driving to the shops is never a chore! I will find any excuse to go out for a quick cruise!

It looks so cool in the grey.
