LongLife oils - oh boy, here we go:
ALL engines are factory filled with LongLife oils, irrespective of which servicing regime they may use, or which country of export they are destined for.
Certain export countries are unable to use LongLife servicing, mainly due to poor quality fuels, but that doesn't affect the factory filled LongLife oil.
Like I have countlessly said elsewhere on this (and others) forum, the LongLife oil is a much higher specificiation compared to the non-LongLife 502.00 standard. The LongLife oil is particularly suited to turbochargers, and high performance engines, due to an additional high temperature test. The VW LongLife oil specifications are considerably more stringent than the "generic" API and ACEA standards.
The GTI, along with any "performance" VAG motor may be OK on the LongLife serving regime, but only if driven like a granny - BUT, I'm quite sure we don't have any silver-surfers who are also GTI owners

- hence my continued strong recommendation, along with the now "official line" from VW and Audi, that GTI/high performance motors should be changed to the time/distance servicing, but still use the higher spec LongLife oils!
