Hi.. what's the word on this problem..?

Just fitted new suspension to my Mk3 8v, Boge turbo strut/shocks and Eibach pro's,
The assembled struts did not hold the springs really tight, they were not exactly jangling about either but you could turn them slightly!
Looking around the forum i can see now that this is a likely MOT failure!  These springs are obviously shorter than the original items, supposed to lower 30mm but at the moment there isn't any significant drop noticable..that is intil it all beds in after a while.. which might mean my springs are going to be even looser when it's jacked up off the wheels??
It seems the Boge/Eibach combo is quite commonly used, but these and some other systems must present the same issue i imagine..
By the way i used new VW top mounts..

As for the handling it's just what i wanted, very much improved without being too edgy

Like to hear about anybody's experiences or problems with loose springs and MOT time..

Cheers
Christo

Mine are a bit loose too.....but they were fitted by my m.o.t tester and he said they would be ok :undecided:
it's the rear's on mine with eibach spring's and sachs/boge shocker's

Hi..you helped me out on another post too i believe
Thanks for the feedback..my m.o.t chap is very thorough, been using them for years..i'll just have to explain the spring situation and take it from there, all fingers crossed!

Second thoughts....

I've done about ten miles on these Eibach's and decided they're too firm for me!  I'm putting the old springs back on.. Maybe it's my age..
Anyway..that means i'll be advertising a set of Eibach's in the 'for sale' section in a couple of days, hopefully with a pic too..still got the box and receipt from Europerformance..i paid £144 inc delivery.... maybe put them up for £90..as new condition,
I'm in the Herts area near Stevenage btw

Cheers
