rusted doors
« on: 22 March 2007, 13:31 »
back from uni and have started stripping my car down, thought id start on a door, only to find that the previous owner had basically built up the corner of the door. looks like it has been pushed in at one point, and theres rust coming though

ive found two doors for £40, but their the full window rather than the quarter door. the other door seems ok, and im quite up for getting a welder and learn to do all that. got the car for £0 so im prepared to do mess with it. do you think the door is repairable? how much new metal will i need?

Thanks, phil

thats repairable, i think you should have a go repairing them and the worse case scenario is you have to buy some second hand ones, go for it, if you need some steel go and ask at a local sheet metal shop, they will have loads lying around and tell you which is the best to use.
