VW reliability
« on: 05 March 2007, 09:37 »
Was doing some work on the golf at the weekend, fitted some new front brakes, dropped the sump and cleaned out the oil pickup (despite the fact it was already spotless). Then I thought it was time to fire it up ready to re-emerge.
After 3 months of not being touched it fired up on the button and settled straight away to a lovely steady idle!!! I love my dubs, just thought I'd share that with y'all.

You got any pics of your dad's split ?

Nah I'm sure my van wouldn't play ball quite as easily if I left that for as long. It was running like a bag of sh!t monday morning after I gave it a thrash up to manchester and back on sunday. It obviously wasn't happy after 400miles @ 70mph in one day, felt like it was running on 3 for a few miles monday morning. Luckily by the time I got to work it was all sweet and it seems happy again. Must just be grumpy like me on monday mornings!!!

Just noticed your sig Gibby, so you managed to let somebody tear the keys from your sweaty palm?

Aye tobz, it went on Saturday but it wasn't as bad as I thought, I enjoyed it for four years and I couldn't afford to keep on top of all of them so something had to give, first in first out and all that.
