had both mk1 and mk2 rocco's... cant comment on the polo... not knocking em but there not my bag...., the mk1 rocco.... well if i could get one now i would... it was a 1600 injection storm, silver with brown leather, yeah sounds cak but it was cool in a retro kinda way... my mk2 rocco was a h plate scala injection 1800 and it went as well as any mk1 gti or mk2 gti golf, different driving position and either love em or loathe em styling though, i personally dont like the mk2 rocco that much to look at but the driving position is comfortable etc and they dont handle too bad, mk1 roccos are just cool, nuff said.... im not putting a downer on the golfs, as ive had about 12 mk2 gtis now, and they handle like you wouldnt believe, cult status worldwide which aint no bad thing.....

i like all vw's me self from the aircooled up to the latest stuff.....

I agree with you on the mk1 rocco Kniterider they are real retro cool . I went looking for one a few years ago and all i found was one really badley rusted storm so i got a mk2 golf and then a couple of years later there was a jade green mk1 rocco with a 20v in a retro car mag and that started me looking again but still never found anything that was any good. Ive never has a mk2 rocco but i like the shape and you dont see that many anymore....

Really? You reckon an injected 'rocco would keep up with a mk2 16v?

Not disputing that (I've never driven either....) but I've been made a few enquiries on the scirocco register forum and they seem to think you should go with a golf for performance :)

What are the brakes like on the mk2 gti? Are they the same as the scirocco (where I've heard they're not exactly a strong point)
