It is actually, a lot nicer than i expected! Still i picked my Rado back up yesterday and it was soooo nice to be back in that (especially as it feels like a different car now)!! leccy windows, PAS and i had always thought it was slow but seems well rapid after the mk1!

I still have not given the mk1 back yet  and have decided that although it is wicked and i do love it, i could never live with one as a daily drive!

1.5 GL (4speed), its actually pretty nippy, although would probably go a lot better without the bike......

my mate had a mark 1 1.3 4 speed for a first car, that was a nippy little thing. So i would imagine a 1.5 wouldnt be too shabby either, well with out that bike on the roof like as you say

Couldnt get used to the 4 speed box but my mate swears by it.  He build a 1.4T mini with a 4 speed, rapid off the line but struggled at 50+mph.... not sure I could live with that.

true, i felt a bit guilty whenever i took it over 50mph as it felt like i was thrashing it (and i was worried the bike might come off the roof!) 

lost count of the amount of times i tried to change from 4th to 5th!!
