Right or wrong ??

My 89 MK2 16v GTI has rectangle lights instead of the rally or single round lights and no GTI badge on front grill. Is this the right grill to this model or has someone who knows nothing about vdubs put the wrong part(s) on. I bought the car from a used car lot, and know nothing about the history of the car. And what does the GTI stand for or is this just the name of the car as far as the model and package goes?

If so they are Jetta Mk2 headlights and can easily be swapped with  round golf lights using a mk2 golf slam panel , grille and lights (can be bought as a lot (check ebay)

Or make me an offer on mine (gti lights , standard grille +slam panel )

Yep, that's them. Do you have the rally setup or the 2 round headlight set up? If so what is the conversion from pounds to american dollars? I'm curious to know what makes the jetta light systems preferable to the round or rally? I personally think the rally lights look more to the character of the GTI, since it's a road and handeling car. I know each is different per each person. i'm also looking to bring the h.p & torque specs. to that of the U.K. cars, since the emmisions laws here are tougher the golf here are down 15- 20 hp less than the ones over there how can I get a hold of some of the factory parts(stock) production parts without going to major endeavor and mods? I know this is the trim section but I'm as I said wanting to make this car (Right).

Oh , Postage would be way high for overseas , sorry.

Its the 2 round lights setup i have , rallye lights are mucho more expensive 

To start with under the bonnet , get a performance filter , upgrade the exhaust maybe? (performance mods aint my thing , what with a 1.3 i have )
