Newbie mk3 owner needs advice
« on: 20 January 2004, 10:52 »
Hello All,
I've just bought my 1st Golf. It's a red '93 mk3 8 valve. It's only my 2nd car and although it's way quicker and much more fun than my old '87 318 I want more!! Has anyone got any recommendations or advice about basic upgrades/mods that I can make to improve the performance. I'm not exactly loaded so please bear this in mind! Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance.
What better time than now, what better place than here?

:)        I fitted an induction kit on a 205 Gti, it just made the car louder with the induction sucking away like mad, same thing with a Fiat Tipo 16v.

vanish, dunno how old u are, but if u start firing big exhausts, air filters, racing cams, chips, turbo conversions etc then your gonna be hit hard by mr insurance.

I thought about an exhaust, but im waiting cos i was only 18 when I got my 8v GTI... and the insurance wouldnt let me mod it.
