Hi,

Just brought a mk4 vw golf 1.6 16v SE and on the head unit it says multi cd changer.. well i pressed the buttons 1,2,3 etc and it just says no disc..so i assume theres a multichanger in the car somewere..? im yet to find it though..

can anyone tell me were it is?? lol

In the Mk4's the Changers are in the boot.
I had the same problem when I bought my old 4-Motion!
I'm pretty sure there was a little black plastic thing that you twisted on the left hand side of the boot carpet pillar that revealed the changer......

Ok great thanks, i did look in left hand side of boot earlier n it just had the like tool kit holder bit do u mean theres another bit to twist in there??

Is it possible there all in the front cd slot? u just put one in after the other kind of thing?

lol ok then mate i had a look but its soo bloody dark out there! Its been hit in rear end so can t get boot open haha, will have a look tomoz in daylight!!

Do they all have changers as standard then??? My g/f has just bought a 2000 1.6 SE it has the headunit and a single slot cd in the dash. There is a button on the cd player to select a changer but I wasn't expecting there to actually be one fitted.

This is the same as our 2.0 golf. I expect that some of these units let you insert more than one disc (seen this on Volvo CD players) but our one only takes one at a time.

Ah, well i had a quick look around my car n couldnt find the multichanger im guessin it wasnt ever there lol, and i tried putting more than one disc in but no luck.. wouldnt let me!

arn't cd multichangers optional extras on higher models?? In which case i doubt a 1.6 would have them.
