Magnex 4 Branch....

1:How hard is it to fit a 4branch manifold to a 16v mk2?
2:Will I need to remove the top part of the inlet manifold?
3:Should I apply the heat wrap/ tape to the tubes?
4:People recomend a solid eng mount can I not just weld the old 1 up so its solid?
5:Oh and what sort of time should #i allow to fit this and a comp S/S system?

nope but mine are on a massive 5.7ltr chevy lump with lots of room.  if it were my golf id have the heat tape everytime.  just looks proper.  try to find the black one that harley davidson use. that stuff looks the nuts

Darren,

1, It's a pain in the ass if the engine is still in, but still do able.
2, Yes as it makes it slightly easier.
3, Yes.
4, If the new manifold has a flexible joint, then no you don't need a solid mount. And I wouldn't go down the route of welding up the existing one as it'll fail pretty quickly, regardless of how good your torch skills are. If you haven't got a flexi joint then BBM and EIP do a solid mount, check out the 'g-werks' website and the 'eip' one, this should do it.
5, 2-3hrs depending on your mechanical skills and that you don't snap any studs off!

Heat wrap can be dangerous stuff, it doesn't reduce the heat it just moves it further down the exhaust. Also if you trap any moisture or leave any gaps exposed you're letting yourself in for problems. I'm not saying it's a bad idea just make sure you know what you want.
