GTi CD Multichanger standard fit?

Am I correct in thinking that a CD multichanger should be a standard item on mk4 GTi Turbo? 
As you'll have worked out I have just got said car and can't see changer in boot where I would presume it should live? Am I just stupid and take another look in daylight or is there chance it's just not there

as far as i know the multichanger was an option, you should have the single din radio, cassette and the in dash cd (think this was single cd as standard and the 6 cd in dash changer again an option)

Multichangers were an option as were the single CD that fits under the tape deck.

Yeah both single and 6 disc boot mounted were both options, standard you would have got the tape deck and little cubby hole above. Check ebay out though, you can pick them up individually for a good price a lot of the time.

Right the Peeps new to this. . . .  I have a multi changer in my Mk4 Turbo. . . . . i have a tape head unit and you'll find the changer in the medical compartment in the boot. From what i have been told all early MK4 20v Turbos had them fitted as standard. Hope This Helps

Just had another check and can actually see the bolt holes for the changer. Top of the medical compartment at the back, gap in trim where it goes as well. Alas no changer there

i'm looking to put cd multichanger in and lose the single in dash cd. 
is this the best option fleagay and no need for a boot changer?  or is a boot changer need also?

i have the optional panasonic boot changer in my gt tdi, however no longer works with my aftermarket headunit. would be willing to sell if anyone wants it?
