i think youll find that as it was an inport thats the reason for the wipers are the wrong way round!!!! alot of early mk2's had them this way even some uk models!!! what is this??? have a go at kniterider day????? >:( >:(

not at all m8 besides ur a big lad ;D im more disgusted at the fact that this garage passed the car and didnt notice all that work besides in all honesty i got a bargain do you know a brand new door from vw costs 250 plus vat so im not aving a go at u just the fact that i got to get my wallet out :'(

all early mk2's had the wipers the other way round. johnny foreigner...

yeah its cos tight arse vw wouldnt make them the other way round cos they didnt know if the market was going to take off in the uk. think they might have been wrong!

rust on a c plater is hardly surprising at least you can still buy the panels from vag, imagine if you had bought a mk1  :o

Personally, if the floorpan is rotten, scrap the car. Or keep for as long as it continues passing an MOT.

I wouldn't spend any major money on the vehicle at this point. Drive it till it dies.

Wipers were orginally on the wrong side. Its not that VW didn't think it wouldnt sell, its just that they were plain lazy. The change was mid way through E plate cars on the first major facelift.

What is disgraceful is that 2003 Clios STILL have the wipers on the wrong side! Or hadnt anyone noticed?

if it can be welded then weld it, shame to throw away a car, especially a vw, if the rest of it is ok. besides if everyone had that attitude then there would be NO mk1's on the road at all!
