First car, First Golf, First project!

Hi guys!

I got sold a mk2 gti 8v on saturday and it broke down before i got it home! it ran like a dream then , well didnt... so i am here to fix her up and gain some knowledge which i know i will!

cant wait to get her out the garage and start lol and send the heavies round to the guy that sold me it and said it was fine just needed some tlc ...... pffft  :cry:  :wink:

well apparantly a common fault..... theres a 20 thou gouge between piston 3 and 4.

which i didnt know when i bought it  :smiley: until it started missing and there wasnt any compression on the way home lol. so i think it was temp fixed to get rid of it ............. what goes around comes around as they say

so the plan was to find a cheapish recon and get it fitted but i decided to much hassle get it done and dusted properly so went for a repair which should be done tomorrow! then i can start on my long list of problems with the aid of some brainiacs on here in the mk2 section  :grin:
