Has it been knackered?

Hi all,

I run a 54 reg Mk5 TDI DSG.

Couple of days ago, the display for the gearbox started flashing dark/light.
According to the handbook, the DSG box has/may have failed. The car still drives OK with no gearbox problems.
Is it another false alarm (had loads of Emission Workshop warnings that always clear themselves)?

Its done 5,800 miles.
