After following through the secret steps to activate the system, the driver would keep one foot firmly planted on the brake pedal, whilst holding the accelerator flat to the board with the other foot. Once you were ready to move, it was a case of removing the foot from the brake pedal and holding on as tightly as possible. Whilst the driverÂ’s foot is on the brake pedal, the engine free-revs up to 3000RPM where it is electronically limited. Once the brake is released, the system launches the car with insane grip and torque. It was certainly something I couldnÂ’t stop playing with!"

Also this "That acceleration time is best achieved by using a launch control system: switch off ESP, make sure you're in Sport or manual mode, press brake and accelerator simultaneously, hear the engine rev up to its 3200rpm torque peak, then release the brake."


Anyone managed to suss this - i cant get it to work

i did it on a demo car with the dealer watching and intrigued.

I did it as follows on a GTi: park up (trying to use left foot to brake) and hold brake, flick box into sport mode, switch off TCS, plant right foot to floor (car will hover around 3-3200 rpm depnding on R32/GTi) and lift off the brake.

On the GTi you get much smoke and a scared dealer, but the R32's Haldex system you see it take off pretty darn rapidly.

Make sure that the engine and 'box are WARM otherwise it wont let you do it!
