on a golf mk3 cl

is it possible to fit the mk2 rear discs?

as changing them to the mk3 type means, converting the car to 5 stud and there seems to be alot of work invloved in that and it just wudn't be cost effective in my eyes? i'm just after abit more reliable braking as mine at the moment tends to stick it's ass in the air and every corner.........

Yep you can just fit MK2 rear discs, but get later MK3 calipers though as they have a revised handbrake lever design which is less prone to siezing up.  You can tell just by looking at them, if they have a big spring on the outside they're MK2 type, if not they're MK3 :)

It dont see how fitting rear discs will help you . The reason the back end is lifting under braking is more to do with the brake balance being front biased . Is there a bias valve on these cars ? If not i guess you will need to upgrade your suspension .

suspension is due for a change in the new year aswell as a niceset of alloys for it, but i do have trouble stopping when the needs are there and also it's a case of i don't want a drums on show, rather a nice disc. butthats just because i'm sad  or maybe mad.......

well there isn't any difference in braking between discs & drums really, its all about the front brakes!  Fit some MK2 GTI 8v vented front discs & pads (if it has 239 solids up front)

No denying though that discs do look much better at the back though

Edit: Plus they're a dead givaway that the car aint a GTI too, which is the most important thing when going for the street sleeper look
