help...
« on: 21 November 2006, 07:41 »
In my search for the perfect cab i've come across what seems to be a lovely cab... only problem i've been told 2 of the 3 dials in the centre console are missing.. is this a major problem?

what do the 3 dials do? and what are they called...

is it oil pressure, ammeter, and engine temp?

what are the probs associated with each one missing?
are they easy to refit? - if i do, i know i might find something i dont want to see e.g oil pressure being sh!t etc...

i need as much info as possible please!

thanks in advance! i really want this cab!  thanks!

if they are the vdo guages then you should be able to get them off ebay, there not that important but they do look good! should be amps, oil temp and oil presure i think!

You dont 'need' the guages at all, they just look cool :)
You can get a set off ebay for around £20, or £30 with senders so not a problem.

I thought they only had 1 as standard  :undecided: cabs could be different I suppose but shouldn't it just be oil temp? weren't the other ones optional extras

Just had a thought, perhaps the oil temp was fitted to earlier GTIs that didn't have oil temp included on the MFA?

That would make sense, I've never had an MFA

aha, I think that must be the explanation then.  If the other guage holes are blanked off, chances are its never had them :)
