If this is a manuafacturing fault or design fault ?  It is time that we sought clarification from Volkwagon GB.

Joking apart !  Is this allegation true or not ?

The whole thing sounds appauling to me.

Please explain Ivor. (dont explain how to get past the allarm) just explain if there is a FAULT in design, or NOT.

  • had most, sold most and often buy more!
as hardcore said, if you were to drill the barrel and bung a slide hammer in you pull the barrel out easy, then with a certain tool you could move the central locking acutuator (and hold it) which would roll down the windows (if this option is set at unlock or 'hold' unlock via vagcom)

another vw owner falling foul to scumbags.... and by the sounds of it so called 'fellow' dubbers....

I guess one solution is that if you have remote central locking anyway, you can easily delock the door handles, drive and passanger side. My mates done this on his mk4 golf 1.8T, but for asthetics rather than security. Leave the boot lock there, just in case remote battery fails.

I'm afraid, there's a definite fault with the design.  My mates' 52 reg GTi had laptops taken out of his boot on 2 seperate occasions in this manor (the boot was deadlocked, but they just simply folded the rear seats down once they were in).

Makes you sick, doesn't it!

Read an article in a motoring mag about this. Exactly the same thing, car on the drive and all locked up when the owner came out to see his 4motion with no interior.  They mentioned that VW could upgrade the locks aswell.

The insurance company wrote the car off apparently??

Sounds like the work of organised criminals.

I am not satisfied with this security issue.

If there is a VAGCOM fix to stop the Windows coming down from tampering with the actuator, then it will have to be done by Volkswagon, and free of charge.

Frankly, I believe this is totally unacceptable for a  fashionable and expensive hatchback design, and since the Golfs are top of the price range in this Market Sector, it is up to VAG GB to correct it, and at their own expense !

The Dealer network are duty bound to protect real private owners like us, unlike Lease companies ! We are the owner/drivers who properly support the marque.

Then it is time to penetrate Customer Services at Milton Keynes.

The way I see it,  That VAG are responsible for a recall to solve that problem.

This is a Public Forum any futher details should not be posted here. There is no telling when , or if those scum bags come here, to polish their criminal skills.
