could the ecu relay cause all the running problems that im having?it did go all of a sudden and started to run badly after a few days where it worked fine  :huh:

Yes.
I replaced those relays on a mk3 16v earlier this year.
The guy at vw even admitted the ecu relay was a problem, hence why they keep them in stock.

right well i guess i'll be on the fone in the morning then,easier to do that than change the sensor! thanks for all the help its much appreciated,all i want is my vr back!!  :cry: mind u when it is fixed the amount of new parts that have been fitted,it should run like a new car!  :wink: finger crossed!!

If that fails then i would try a fault code reader.

nope,sorted that,got the pump out and found that the wires were chaffed so whenever i hit a bump or turned sharp,the fuel would slosh up,hit the wire and the fuse would pop! nitemare way to find out,after replacing fuel filter,air filter,lambda's etc etc.......
