OEM stereo with best sound ?
« on: 28 October 2006, 00:54 »
Ordered a 3 door Mkv Gti with RCD 500 & soundpack.

What upgrades can be done to significantly improve sound quality whilst maintaining OEM headunit ?

I guess the best thing to do would be to upgrade the speakers, or add a small sub with a bit of work. However, the speakers in modern VAG's are pretty good - I think the best improvement would be to change the head unit for something like an Alpine, and keep your OE one in a cupboard somewhere till re-sale time.

You could also put some sound deadening material behind the speaker's to stop backwave.  :nerd:
