just spare a thought for the police and ambulance crews who have to deal with this stuff every day but it wouldnt be a dummies head on the parcel shelf!  :sick:

Car strength is all relative, I think for the size of car from their time, they are tough.

But compared to a new SUV, Range Rover etc , Volvo in fact any modern big heavy car....lets just say I stay out of their way.

exactly, tough for their time, but not compared to anything new, with all the side protection etc. The aim is not to crash me friends.  :smiley:

they are tough enough, but it depends what car you hit, a mk2 is a small car by todays standards

yeh but i had a compression fracture in my spine lol.....

I had a white C reg 1.3 a few years back and i went into the back of a stantionary car at 50 mph! Wrote his car off, pretty badly crippled the Golf, no injuries to myself and only cost me £200 to repair!

Bloody solid cars!  :cool:

Will see if i can find some pics of the damage later...

I acctually remember seeing your golf after your crash, If i remember right the bonnet smoothed right out and the worst damage seemed to be to the wing and bumpers.
