Which look?
« on: 28 September 2006, 22:31 »
I have just had all the necessary mechanical work done on my latest project, bodywork to do next. I have just purchased a set of 15" BBS RJ's which have been mirror polished. However, I am undecied what to do with the exterior? I own a standard MK2 16v Oak Green so was thinking of giving this one the euro look - lowered, single lamp grille, clear lights, de-badged, rear wiper removed etc. What do you reckon? Euro or standard?

Do what makes you happy, if i was you though I would do pretty much what you suggested. If you come to sell it on you can always but the standard bits back on so its original.

The car has only done 52,000 miles and will be looking to sell it when completed. Will the euro look affect the sale price? Will people pay more for standard look?

Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Ahhh, now you didnt mention that 1st time round. It depends on wether you bought the car to sell on or to make your own and keep it for a while. I dont think of what a car would be worth if i sold it, therrefore Im happy to modify/perfect them till they die or i get bored, so I'd still probably euro it tbh. Like we will all say though, its your car and your the one who's going to have to get in it and drive off smiling!

Keep standard, more people after standard retro cars nowadays as they dont know how good the mods have been fitted.
