Joe that G60 is lovely!

What headlights are those on ya mates car? Rallye ones? If so why they so clear and shiny?

the cars a corrado i think

sweet car and got to be rare in canada!....

martz, this is my mates 16vg60. in my opinion a far neater, simpler and generally better way to charge a 16v. my 16vt is based on this engine, except with a turbo instead of a super and a bit more poncy-ness! :P

poncy-ness!! you joe, i just don`t believe it

Cheers Joe.

He will be talking to my mate as he is the one doing the install. I am the one getting all the stuff together and supplying ideas!

true but it also gets rid of the pointlessly (with forced induction) long standard inlet manifold... also toph, the top pic you can see the carbon fibre second air box, to cool the return i was on about.

look at all that space at the back of the engine for that lovely turbo as well! :P

yeah that inlet is deffo better for turbo applications.. i did have concerns about the rocco manifold soaking heat from the rocker cover.. but supercharger charge temps aren't too high compared to turbos.

i wouldnt say it was a simpler setup though.. and certainly not cheaper

Talking of inlets for charging, has anyone seen the dual air box inlets for the G-Lader that some guy on E38 is having made? what's peoples thoughts on these? I have heard it's not good idea to do the boost return delete to the second inlet, as this means there is no oil misting for the charger internals.....  ?

thats when you start spraying PTFE grease in your charger instead. those twin inlets look damn good.. saw a couple in the flesh at the rallye show.. im keeping my boost return though, tried and tested.. still going strong after 17 years

yeah not cheap, but i mean simpler as in you can ditch all the crappy k-jet stuff so you don't have to worry about extra injectors etc. johns runs on g60 loom/ecu with a re-map from ray west at thruxton. i was always under the impression the reason for the longer inlet manifold was to smooth out the air flow on natuarally aspirated engines, which isn't the case with forced induction. can't see what difference turbos and superchargers have in that respect?

i suppose the inlet after the turbo is gonna be forcing the air in so the shape of the manifold wont effect its flow that much. it does make a big difference on na the inlet design, even on like throttle bodies the trumpet design and length of the manifold changes things quite a bit

True, affects torque curve and throttle response.
