Price Valuation on Mk2 16v run out model - help req'd!
« on: 21 September 2006, 20:26 »
Am thinking of selling my pride and joy  as a 3 dr mk2 16v has come up thru a mate for cheap money though it needs some engine work as it smokes slightly.......

Not sure what to do as mine is in superb condition and has maintained very well, just fancy a 3 door!

Am just wondering how much mine is worth as i dont want to give it away as nothing majorly wrong with it!

5 dr
1990 run out model
94,000 genuine miles only
3 previous owners
Lots of Old Mots = Mot''d to  November 06, but can be sold with 12 months
unmarked Rainbow interior
4 recent Pirelli P6000 tyres
Fully documented Service History and loads of receipts
Recent Cambelt change (82k)
100 % totally standard and original
apart from..Upgraded to  MK3 rear calipers

Overall its a very nice standard example and getting hard to find in this condition, had 3 mature owners and been sensibly driven !

Whats it worth????:undecided:

I think Slick is maybe a wee bit high.

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

2.5k - everything would need to be mint, and i mean concours.

1.8k - all service history, clean bodywork, mechanically sound.

Cheers guys, its nowhere near concours, paint peeling very slightly on front bumper and very monor rust spot on bottom of front door, mechanically its sound though, engine revs very well and has well documented FSH

not sure what to do!

how much you willing to go up to mate?

i need to look further at this 3 dr, I'm not really a mechanic and got to check how much work engine requires, i may even put VR6 engine in yet

If you are serious send me your email and i will send you more photos :)

Thats what I thought - I'm no expert but it seems labelling golfs as run out models is popular.  Maybe mine is I've got:

1991 (can't remember when first registered)
mk2 golf gti 16v
colour: black
doors: 5
electric windows
central locking
bbs alloys
not sure if windows are tinted or chromolaux or whatever it's called - if i had to guess I'd say they are a little dark
sunroof
rainbow interior

is it a run out ????????
