Well mine was perfectly set up, bought a chip from.... powerchips_technology on ebay, paid £22 inc p&p, car is much more responsive fitted it this evening, havn;t taken car on road yet as its not taxed but the car revs cleaner all the way through the range with no more hesitation, need new temp sender though.... bit lumpy when cold but was doing that before chip, lots of overfuelling untill oil temp goes up...

All in all can recommend the chip, will let u know how it is on the road when I use the golf again....

This is going to sound really stupid, but how would i remove my ECU from the car if i bought 1 of these chips...?  :embarassed:

it seems to be located on 3 lugs, looks like it needs pushing out of these lugs but im not sure! i tried pushing it out but couldnt do it

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Mine came with a big 12 page guide, black and white pics though... to get ecu out u just kind of have to prise the little white clips, I used a little flat blade screw driver to nudge them whilst sliding the ecu, kind of goes with a 'pop' but its ok, then just unplug both connectors and remove, not too difficult a job took me about 20 min once I worked out what I was doing. revs much cleaner though really worth the money

Hi all,

Just a quick question I was thinking about getting one of the ebay chips and was just wondering if anyone else had any comments or feedback about them...I realise that they are fairly cheap and I'm not expecting miracles, but was just wondering if they really work before I waste some hard earned cash??

Any advice about whos tried what, and which one to go for would be appreciated

Thanks in advance....

Ang on one sec, have you done a deal with the seller or something?

Everyone knows that "digilag" is because the car hasnt been tuned correctly.

I had a mild case of it, got it correctly tuned and it was like a -- -- --- - ROCKET!

Add the chip on top of a Digi that has been tuned and whata hell of a difference it makes .
