So now we know the finals specs/options etc, what colour are people going to go for from the limited choice?? The lack of dark blue is disappointing. Pearl black seems the best but i bet most of them will turn out black. Silver and grey don't quite work for me....

Mmm chrome style would be nice indeed.

Well DSG or not, my £800 Tomcat will still leave our new GTi 30th for dead and its 12 years old and a Rover

Hi there

I'm new here - first time i've ever been on a forum!  I have been particularly interested with this topic and have been following events as they have unfold.  I placed a deposit for an edition 30 gti back in July/August and have been eger for its arrival.  Looks like you guys have been looking for pics of the alloy wheels.  Well, after some digging about, i have found this (link below).  Whether these are legit or not, maybe someone can shed some light!

Personal thoughts,

Like the wheels, partial leather interlargos seats and golf ball gearleaver, not sure about couler coded spoiler and skirts though.

Extra power as long as it doesn't upset handling is always welcome.

The official vw release looks like the same pic as posted on this forum, Can't post the spec sheet with all the details of them as i would prob get sacked but i can assure you the wheels look like the last ones posted and the details seem to be correct as i'm working off the officail release that only vw retailers get not the general public. there's only 1500 being produced and each dealer is being auto allocated one car each for december to be in the showroom.
If anyone in the yorkshire area ones one for release day they need to let me know as i can get them one.

No worries,

Sure somebody will take you up on your offer.

BTW I am new to this forum but assume you work for a VW dealership in Yorkshire ???

I am looking for a good dealer to service and look after my new baby when it arrives in a couple of months time.

I live in South Yorkshire and have read &  heard that most UK VW dealers haven't got the best reputation regarding customer satisfaction ? A point I must agree with regarding most of my recent dealings with VW salesman ( The lack of product knowledge esp).

I realize most VW dealerships are in the volume sales market and I got the feeling they think that the  Gti/R32 is a car they can sell without having to seemingly answer my questions. This may be so but is very short sighted on their part as a business as they definitely put me off buying a car through a official UK dealership and giving them my business when it comes to servicing, consequently I am importing one through a broker & saving approx £4,000 off UK list.

Either way as I understand it,  dealer's make most of their money through servicing & repair works .... I am not adverse to paying the premium rates charged by main dealerships but in doing so I expect premium treatment.

I am looking at modifying my car with a remap & suspension mods (probably Morego 250 & powergrip suspension kit) & would be interested if you could recommend a dealership who has a flexible approach with a staff who are passionate about cars who will give it some TLC and have a real world view with regards to professional car modifications,   Ensuring the ownership experience and consequently my likelihood of buying a MK6 Gti/R32 from them & giving them my servicing/repair business's over many years is enhanced buy my ownership experience of the Mk5.
