ah right...mine has been ordered from Specialist VW here in Aberdeen

No official threads/sections as far as I can see on any of the usual suspect websites....we should maybe start a pic thread for the E30s when we all pick them up in March!
Golf Mk8 R order cancelled...awaiting company car instead
Tiguan 1.5 Elegance for the wife & dogs
Skoda 1.5 SEL cheap lease special

Is this the death of this thread then??? Maybe others are starting new threads on the subject as this one is too long to read - hence these new ones (autocar jobbie) where all the old stuff is getting talked about again days after it happened??

RIP!

I think the other one was just to easily see what cars have been ordered and in what spec

Probably best to keep this one going, and use the other one just for showing off/order confirmation!

Now that there are 2 ed30 threads, i'm confused where to go!

Ollieb7, make sure you post some pics of the alloy wheels - i still haven't decided whether to buy a set or not.  I like them, but now that i've found out i'll have to pay a hefty premium for them, i'm not so sure (as i was planning to keep the bbs wheels for selling the car on later).  I really tried hard to haggle with the dealer but they didn't budge.  Do you know if there is a limit or something on how many of these alloy wheels can be dispatched to UK?  Not that many people will be buying them, as it seems most people hate them.  I think its a marmite thing!

There you are! ive obviously changed my signiture (bit big). I think marmite looks great but tastes awfull!

Should get wheels this / next week. The wheels are available to order from VW UK so i shouldn't think there will be any problem. If you like them get them - i'm obviously going to sell the pescaras so it makes it more financially viable (no doubt still cost though!) but to keep a set just for resale??? I don't think it will make that much difference - it's not like they are after market wheels, infact an enthusiast may even pay more to have 'the german look'.
My wife is in line for the car once i done my bit in 3 years so it dosn't worry me - washing the spokey numbers for that number of years does!

AE has more pictures today of the fugly 5 door in red, what a terrible press car to have.

Just imagine if they had have had a 3 door candy white, with xennons, that would make you want to go and buy one and I reckon none of the press would have slated its exterior looks either.

Makes the Red Type R look way better.

Ordered mine last November.

Red - then Grey - then Red again - then Grey again then finally Black (what a mess I was in).
Xenons
Rear tints
DVD with Ipod
MFSW
Lux Pk 1

Ordered from Gilbert Lawton (Nr Manchester)
NO DISCOUNT

Fair trade in on my existing Mk5 GTI

Never been disapointed with the current car apart from those rusty wheel hubs and a few trim niggles here and there.
Looking forward to seeing the build quility on the ED30 (my current car was one of the first GTI's in the UK - it was good but I like perfect !).

Isn't this year going slow !!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice mate - you've got a point about a new set of alloys not really making much of a difference on resale - dunno what i was thinking!  I've decided to go for the black alloys after all (eventually - after i've saved up some dosh!!! :smug:) after the car comes.  After all, can't leave you on your own in the "black monza ed 30 gti club!!!"
