There may be a sensor on the front of the engine that picks up a signal from the crankshaft. Dont think that will cause it to run rich tho.

I think the crank sender does engine speed, the cam sender does ignition timing.

Not sure what fuel injection system he has (digifant?), one with twin coils and no distributer?.

It has a distributor and single transformer. Ive also now had the ecu tested and it has 2 faults. idle controll fault. Overfueling 15-20%. Getting somewhere i think, just need a new ecu now. Not Cheep!

SOLVED! The timing was out 6 teeth and the origional ecu had an idle fault. Why didnt the 1st mechanic realise that the timing was out. Its not brain surgery is it?
