vr6 calipers with g60 discs?
« on: 19 July 2006, 11:42 »
Just done a search but it didn't come up with anything conclusive.

Will corrado vr6 calipers fit on the later mk2 hubs and allow me to use g60 discs? Would i get away with the vr6 carriers or would i have to use g60 carriers?

1992-1993 I do believe. Got Mk3 Vr6 Cailpers on mine running 256mm discs. Can't afford G60 discs yet

I think the VR6 calipers will be ok but you need G60 carriers. I'm looking at doing this and as far as I know thats the score mate.

I done this mod on my 88 8v GTi. 239 to 280 makes sooo much difference. You need the 16v hubs (Same as the VR6 I understand) with the 280mm VR6 calipers & carriers (I think '93 - '95) and some G60 disks. The VR6 disks are the same but 5 stud!

I got the hubs and carriers from a breakers for £150 and refurbished them with new seals Etc. I got some nice black diamond drilled disks which put the price up a bit but it looks ace and stops like is should have done in the first place.

This mod wont fit in 15 inch wheels by the way. You need 16's or more.

They do fit 15" wheels, such as G60 steels etc... There are some 15's which will catch on the calliper though so it's best to see what other people are using first.
