with the car up to running temp, disconnect the ISV and set the idle to 1000rpm using the idle screw

in the mornings it will take a while to warm up - it'll start at about 500rpm and gradually rise to 1000rpm after about 15mins of driving

it'll be a bit annoying in the mornings but not half as annoying as it revving at 3krpm all the time!!

as for the control modules just looking for someone breaking a 16v - usual 2nd hand price is £25

blimey disconnecting the isv made a lot of difference, yeah it struggled to start and for a couple of minutes idled like there was bunch of spanners in the engine, but once warm, the cars so much smoother, the revs fall down nice and quickly to 1000 when dipping in the clutch , instead of falling down too 1800 rpm stopping for a fraction of a second and then dropping back down to 1k like usual.

has anyone gota pic of what this control thing looks like, i've never noticed it..........................................

it just looks like a wee black box with an electrical connector on it

say about 2 inch x 3 inch in size - it'll have VDO stamped on it along with the part number
