I heard a device like that will slow your speed down to the road speed limit.

Our engines will be going ''grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr'' and doing only 30mph! we will all be racing side by side doing 30. >:( >:(

I just hate it went government wants to poke its nose in all our own personal lives and start bossing you around telling you what you can and can't do. I think its an infringement of my liberty and rights to go where I like when I like without being held accountable all the time to some pen pushing beaurocrat up at Whitehall.

I had a discussion once with a Spanish friend in Madrid last year. We got onto the subject of government and the differences between the UK and Spanish politicians. Its hardly perfect over there. They have there cronies too. But really do like their 'live and let live' attitude. But what struck me was when he said that difference between British Government and Spanish Government was that when politicians over there gain power they have this duty to serve their people whereas once politicians in Britain get into power they they think it their duty to bully and push us around.

I smiled and disagreed at the time - but with this sort of thing coming creeping into our lives I begin to wonder whether its sadly true? I wonder whether it was because they were bullied at school?

Hope thats not too heavy? ;). And by all means disagree if you like? ;D

I reckon these devices are still some time away. And the one that gets fitted to my car will develop all sorts of horrible problems.

The idea that you can retro fit reliable limiters is interesting to say the least. Again, the one attached to my car will be suffering from all sorts of problems. Maybe even my mileometer will break - "Yes mate - i really only do 100 miles a year in my car - now ff off".

I cant see these devices ever getting fitted. The idea came up from a Left wing think tank. It'll be shot down pretty soon as it smacks of Big Brother.
