Can't believe you're driving it like that :o

Mine looked similar when I pulled my dash out, looks worse than it actually is.........but I just wheeled the car back into the garage for another day's work..........you're still using yours  :o

Don't forget to refit the steering wheel ::) if you do need to drive it ;)

Good luck.

so many people get squeemish at the sight of a bare loom. there's not that much there! mostly stereo, leccy windows and central locking.

anyway.. updates... The mk3 dash is in!
it's only held in by 2 screws at the moment and I haven't got the steering column lowered yet, but it at least it's in there. I would take a pic, but I loaned the camera to wez today. will take some later. I'm just taking 5 and having a coffee! Need to get some 3 in screws and bolts to lower the steering now. then I can drive with the dash in at least. I haven't started doing the wiring yet. just get the dash to the right shape and then get the support bar in.

well at the end of day 2 the dash is in and secured at the top. heaters are sort of working. although it took 20 mins to clear the screen with the aid of the hair dryer ;D it's because I'm missing a section of pipe to connect the dash to the matrix. will add that in tomorrow.

you have to lower the steering wheel annoyingly when you do this swap. at the moment it's far too low and almost hits my legs! I'll raise it up another inch tomorrow as I have work in an hour and it's too dark to do anymore work.

Electrics and switches are still running mk2 style. The fire extinquser is always to hand incase the worst happens. The mk2's clocks are wedged in there at the moment, but are fully functioning so I'm legal to drive it. :)

Day 3's tasks...
Wire up mk3's switches
link up what I can of the heaters
work out how I'm connecting the mk3's controls to the mk2's heaters.
Raise steering wheel!

Will post pics later!
