Its a bit worrying for the geezer if his losing water and power 
Get it tested without delay.
I have a similar problem with myself right now. I need to make water and don't have the power to get up and go do it. lol. Seriously though. Get it checked before you wind up with an expensive repair bill, Last head gasket I bought for a 8v was 12 quid. That was in 2001 though. They are a snap to change though. About an afternoons worth of work.
