New Golf v Britain's Best ...
« on: 12 December 2003, 13:55 »
The New Golf (1.6 Fsi S 5dr) is the best according to WhatCar? Jan 2004 edition.

It was matched against the following hatchbacks...

Madza 3 1.6s
Honda Civic 1.6i SE
Toyota Corolla 1.6i T3
Ford Focus 1.6 16v Zetec
Renault Megane 1.6 Expression.

The 29 year old winning formula of Volkswagen is still potent today. The best -selling ever car in VW history.. ladies and gentlemen is.......the Golf. ;D

that c2 thing? ive been in and driven a c2 vtr. jesus, that flappy non gearstick paddle change is terrible. old people can change a normal gearshift than that reacts.

slow, tacky, made of cheapo nasty plastic, looks crap and yeah like a van. but the boys love em. sad really. if i had about 10,000 to spend on a car i wouldnt buy one of them. think what you could do to a car with even 8 grand to spend on it.

free insurance is all i can say, thats why everyone wants one.
