I would also agree,not only are they very reliable units, i work for an authorised distributor of alpine and compared to your JVC's, and not so much but still sumtimes kenwoods and sony's we get very few back. you also have a brilliant scope for sculpting the sound, particually on the higher end units, you have Timing correction, parametric EQ's, and built in crossovers. however, in my opinion id steer clear of the glide touch units as they just become a pain in the arse.another problem ive come across is the ipod compatability unit that plugs into the Ai-Net connection on your headunit will more often than not only let you select the first 250 or so songs, so not great if youve got a lot of music on your ipod. they also make very good speakers and Amps, in the speaker range im particually fond of the Type S series, as they are reasonablly priced, and good speakers for the money you pay. however, id also say on the speaker front have a look at the 2005 infinity range, as you can pick it up from online retailers clearing stock very cheaply at the moment, and they are very good performing speakers.
