The GTi 150 PDi (diesel) does its 0-60 and top speed a shade slower (minimal) than a GTi 1.8t 150 but the PDi has very strong torque so you get much faster mid range acceleration and you can be more lazy with the gear shift - ie on the motorway theres far less need to drop it down a cog to get fast acceleration than there is in a 1.8t
Previous - GTI 1.8T 1999, GTI 1.8T 2000
Current  - GTI 1.8T 180bhp 2003  :-)

i used to be anti diesel years ago but things have changed!!! you get a 150pd gti yeah very quick, play with the ecu chip/remap/piggy back box and whaaayyyy even more and you get 45+mpg no matter how hard you drive as said standard torque figures are superb any way but a bit of playing does no end!!, hey if i aint got enough for an r32 in years to come then a latest spec pd gti will be on the cards im afraid!!!!, even though ive been a petrol head since the age of 16!!!

My 130 is quite quick but I?m still running it in. I wish I had thought a bit more about the 150.What are the difference in engine speck to get the extra 20 bhp?

Just get your 130 REVO'd!

I have to say that now my 130 is run in a bit, I actually prefer driving it to my 1.8T. I was driving my 1.8T on Saturday, following my other half in the 130 and I was struggling to keep up with her! (don't tell her that).

The only thing I'm not keen on is the body roll. Can someone with a 150 do me a favour? What colour are the little circles painted on the front and rear springs? These relate to the siffness of the springs appartantly and Iwant to get the stiffer ones for my 130.

As its a company car I don't want to get aftermarket ones incase I get a bollocking.

Dude, where abouts are these coloured circles and I'll go down to the carpark and take a look for you.

There are painted on the actual springs. They're about the same size as a 20p coin.

For the front, try looking up into the arch above the wheel. As for the rear, I could only see them by looking under the bumper at the back.

The ones on my PD130 are yellow and purple, where as the ones on my 1.8T are white and blue.

Sorry to be a pain in the arse, I just want it to handle better...

I've just been down to look at mine (sorry for the delay, I didn't see you'd posted again!) and my car is so fecking filthy I can't see any painted marks!!!

It will get a good wash and polish this weekend, including an underbody blast, so if you still need these colour coding details, let me know, and I'll post them on saturday for ya ;)
