rough idling Mk2 8v
« on: 03 May 2006, 09:45 »
Hey guys!

Need some help please?

Have a Gti mk2 8v digifant. ItÂ’s idling rough so I sorted out the timing and the co2 mixture but itÂ’s still rough, though it has improved. And the other thing - the revs have a slight erratic behavior its like at idle u can see the rev counter drop a little and return back to normal (800 revs). What could cause this problem? And what spark plugs will give me the best results ? and what does PB on the engine stand for as i cant find it in the manual !

Possible vacum leak somewhere, has the Idle Valve been set up correctly? Blue temp sender unplugged and then the engine revved to 3k three time to clear the ecu, set the idle and the mixture, plug the blue temp sender back in, idle should be nice and stable. If you have a vacum leak then need to traces all the usual suspect hoses and tubing.
