Anyone used 'my tyres'?
« on: 02 May 2006, 15:10 »
One of the links on this site is www.mytyres.co.uk

Has anyone used them? I need two new tyres for the mk4 and I particularly like Firestones. However, they are rarely in stock so I wondered if it would be a good idea to order them from this website and get them fitted locally. I would have thought it would work out cheaper than ordering them from my local tyre fitting station :undecided:

I use them a lot. Their tyres are even cheaper than I can get here from the warehouse at trade prices.

I actually have 4 on order for my mk4 from them at the moment, due on the 8th. (They usually only take about 3 days to arrive, I think I ordered something awkward.)

Then I take them to the local ATS on a Saturday, one of the lads is a vw fan. New valves/balancing/fitting for 30 quid for the whole car (cash obviously  )

Hey Rich
I bought my toyos from them last year, arrived really quickly and at a really good price. If you can get them fitted for a good price locally the you can make massive savings.
I'm about to order some continentals from them for my van, when I quoted how much they were on mytyres to my local tyre fitter their advice was buy them there and get them to fit them, they knew there was no way they could match the price.

Excellent. Thanks guys. My local tyre fitter will fit them for £5 each, cash paid directly to the fitter for beer money

Thats the way to go I reckon..........thanks for the input

They may be cheaper on some, but not all Gaz.
I just searched for the conti's I'm putting on my van they came up as £66 odd on black circles, they are £44 odd on my tyres for the same thing!!!
Also the difference between the mail order price or fitted price was over £14 so they are charging more than a local fitter will charge if you wave some beer tokens under their nose.

Check on Ebay, there's a few tyre places selling on there, some really good deals as well, delivered in a couple of days too.

If you ring em tho they will discount, the tyres that I ordered were £112 each fitted on line, I rang them and they did em for £80each

I've used them a couple of times and they were very very good.  Pain was paying over the odds for disposal of my old tyres at the fitters.  I have managed to equal their prices on a couple of occasions by shopping around though.
