Does the traction control control slow the pick up of the car from stand still??? as in the computer kicks in because its about to wheel spin and slows the power or something???? had a little mess around with a friend in his jap-mobile on a straight, he cained me up pick up :embarassed: caugh up to him and left him for joke afterwards but im surprised a 1.8 vtec would do that to a gti?!  :undecided:

Turn it off and try again!

Golf's are heavy old beasts mind so it wouldnt suprise me, also when the turbo kicks in you do tend to get a lot of wheel spin so you are probably right. Mine doesnt have TC so i have to be gentle with the gas when accelerating in 1st or 2nd gear.
