18" tyre PSI question
« on: 26 April 2006, 20:50 »
Hi,

Just ordered my new wheels, gone for 18" R32 multispokes in shadow silver:

What pressure should i keep the tyres at?

Also got my anniversery headlights coming from germany, £140 delivered which i thought was a good price.

Cheers, Sam

Am not sure, but maybe a nice R32 owner will have a read of the inside of his filler cap for you.

Are they replica's, then?  How much?  Do they come with 225 40's?

Hi mate,

Got them with 225/40/18 marshall tyres, locking nuts and next day delivery (tomorrow hopefully!!  ) for £650. Yep there replica's but... who cares they look nice

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8058140308&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I think they should be around 30psi but need confirming.

Will post some piccies as soon as there on, new anniversery headlights should be here in a week or so. Not looking forward to taking the bumper off to fit them though, but should be able to fix my sump guard thats hanging off. Only got to go over a rizla paper for it to scrap. For some reason my cars lower at the front then the back, i'n not sure what its been lowered on as it was like it when i bought it, but the front bumper and valance sit's about 4" off the ground. Damn it the speed bumps round my way really work!!!

Also ordered some golfgti.co.uk etched stickers so should be all pimped up for run to the sun end of may!

Cheers, sam

Yeah, nice colour..... Should look the nuts!!!

Would be interested to know the weight of each wheel, though, if you could sort it???

I'm considering these myself >>>  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-Golf-R32-Style-Alloy-Wheels-2254018-Tyres_W0QQitemZ8059463301QQcategoryZ9888QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

Won't look as good as your silver, though.

ps I reckon 30 psi maybe a tad low, you know, as standard 1.8 T's (205 55 16) run 2.1 BAR at the front (approx 32 psi), & 1.9 BAR at the back (approx 29 psi).

Hi,

I'll see if there is a weight on on the wheel/ packaging for you as soon as i get them. Yep i do like the R32 wheels, the one's you've shown arent that much cheaper than the hyper silver ones, also worth enquiring about what tyres you get. I found out most of the deals on ebay use aytyre tyres which i have never heard of! I tried loads of differant tyres on my sr nova when i was young, used to get them part worns for cheap. I've always thought kumho's where the best for value and grip, and remember toyo's being crap. I've had marshalls before so thought i would upgrade from aytyres as i dont remember them being a problem.

Cheers Sam,

They are a really good price for those headlights, plus they are for right hand drive models as well.

I think that i will be getting myself a pair of them.
