i was bored over tyhe weekend and as my suspension is knackered i though i would have a mess with it, so i cut the back springs in half and chucked them on the car to see what it would look like. well impressed with the ride height but unfortuantley the car was not driveable as i did try but the tyres werte rubbing on the wheel wells. ÂÂÂ
im on the look out for some suspension setups at the moment i dont know if i should go 60mm or 40mm, i cant afford coilovers so i need to get set dampers and springs. running 205/40/17 on the tt comp wheels would i get a problem of rubbing if i went 60mm (i have cut/grided the arches back so there is clearance on the face of the alloy/tyre, i just dont want the tyres hitting the top of the wheel well when hitting big bumps or carrying a person in the back/ shopping etc.  can anyone advise me. looking to spend £250. not fussy on makes just want a relativley tidy strong damper and spring with a fairly nice ride quality and height.(not too bumpy but lowered just right)

looks cool but as you say tooooooooo low! Maybe about an inch higher would do the trick and look great. I like it when the tyre fits in the arch perfectly with no gap.

any pictures of how the car was sitting with the shock and dampers you may sell? im very interested. wont the fact that they are for a vr6 make the front of mine that bit higher due to the less weight from the engine??
