maybe thick but which is the "Hydraulic tappets" on here? or are they in a completely different place altogether??
please enlighten me!

Hmmmm not any of them things! I think hydraulic lifters is what they are called, they should be with the cams like.....
They go between the cam and the valve push rod and extend so they touch the cam thus extending more when they get worn. and extending less when thye havn't got sufficient oil pressure causing tap on startup.

some peeps call them followers just put a new set in mine and theyre suprisingly cheap!

Gonna hijack a little here. When you take your cams out, how do you know your putting them back in right? Do you line marks up or something?

Just mark which valve they all came from, as well as the cam caps. Make sure you get the order and orientation of the caps exactly right or you'll turn the head & cam into scrap!

did finally work it out, why are they called so many different things?? Do you reckon I should fit 16 new tappets then? Can you tell if they are worn? and if so should I just replace those that look dodgy?
