Water warning light
« on: 30 November 2003, 17:33 »
Ok. The little red led on the water temp gauge is flashing intermittently. The water level is fine and the needle is moving as I would expect it to. I've checked the plug on the top of the expansion tank, seems ok.

Any ideas?

A simple thing to try - make sure the lid on the expansion tank is fully tightened up. regards, yt.

I'm experiencing same probs. Among other things there must be a water leak. I only realise this a couple of days ago. I'm getting one of hoses replaced which is located at the base of the radiator. For the time being I top the water up when the lights come and that stops the problem...for the interim.

Sh!te... I have had a mare with my light flickering on and off ever since I bought it.. First off I noticed the expansion tank had a small split in it and was leaking down into the centre of the tank where the sensor was.

Bought a new tank and fitted it last Sunday only to find the light still flickering on Monday going to work.  Flipped the bonnet at lunchtime and found water still by the sensor.  Dried it off again and went home that evening.  Problem happened again and now it seems the bl00dy sensor has a crack in it and needs replacing.

Bet ya bottom dollar I replace the sodding thing only for it to keep on flickering and have a bad connection behind the speedo !!! *laughs*

Oh joy :D
